One recurring concern about Xactimate is the learning curve associated with the software, as it can be complex and requires considerable training to use effectively. Currently Xactimate offers certifications of levels 1, 2, and 3, and you can find more information regarding what is encompassed in those certifications here on the Verisk website. Having a proficiency in the software can prove extremely useful, as in addition to being able to quickly and accurately write estimates, adept users can also provide expert testimony and insight on estimation methodology. Additionally, more experienced users will be able to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of the software.
Prime Adjustments has partnered with Construction Analytics Group (CAG) for those seeking to advance their knowledge of, and skill in Xactimate. Andrew Behrens, founder and owner of CAG is level 3 Xactimate Certified and is one of roughly 40 Xactimate Certified Trainers (XCT) in North America. An Xactimate Certified Trainer (XCT) is a top-level user (Level 3) who has also pursued the training designation. This training designation requires the individual to complete a rigorous training program at Xactware’s headquarters in Lehi, Utah. The individual becomes “Certified” by Xactware to train Xactimate software products. While there are many individuals that offer Xactimate training, it is important to know if trainers are Certified by Xactware to provide Xactimate training. Andrew has built and administers a self-paced and easy to use course curriculum that covers all 3 levels of Xactimate certification and more. Additionally, CAG courses come with integrated chapter exams, as well as unlimited live virtual group training sessions with an Xactimate Certified Trainer (XCT).
